The three-year master service agreement for the complex northeast of Santiago includes engineering services, field technical assistance to back the operation’s sustaining capital program, and leading the evaluation and development of environmental permits for Los Bronces.

Jacobs will also support bidding rule preparation for future scopes of work for its studies, engineering services and construction phases.

Jacobs' mining, minerals and technology senior vice president/general manager Andrew Berryman pointed out that the firm has extensive end-to-end solution experience in the copper sector.

“This experience, combined with our long-standing relationship with Anglo American and our previous work on the Los Bronces mine project, positions us well to add value,” he said.

Anglo owns 50.1% of the open-pit Los Bronces; the Codelco-Mitsui joint venture holds 29.5% and Mitsubishi’s share of the operation is 20.4%.
