PRESS RELEASE: The vessel MV Clipper Tenacious was loaded with approximately 5,000 dry metric tonnes of spodumene concentrate and is headed for Altura's offtake partner Lionergy in China. The vessel was shared with two other exporters.

The focus for Altura is now the ongoing ramp-up of production to the nameplate capacity of 220,000tpa and regular shipments. Arrangements have been made for the next shipment, which is expected to occur in late October. Full details of production and shipments will be reported on a quarterly basis.

Altura Mining managing director James Brown said the first shipment marked the start of the next stage of the company's history.

"We are now producing and exporting lithium concentrate that will become part of the lithium-ion battery revolution," he said.

"A little bit of the Pilbara will now be found in the car, mobile phones and static storage batteries of the future."
