Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, though Austrak said its order includes 280,000 concrete ties to be delivered in 2020.

The Koodaideri project will include the construction of an additional rail line to connect the future mine with the Rio Tinto's existing network.

Tie deliveries will originate from a factory in Western Australia, a location which will potentially also serve as a production site for other forthcoming mining projects in the Pilbara and aid Vossloh's growth in the country.

"This perfectly underlines the company's strong position in Australia's concrete tie market and once again confirms Vossloh's outlook for the 2020 fiscal year, seeing an increase in sales and profitability," CEO Andreas Busemann said.

Austrak was acquired by Vossloh in late 2018.

Koodaideri's production is scheduled to start in late 2021.
