Reuters cited company general manager Liang Hie as saying this week at the China International Nickel and Cobalt conference in Nanjing that the company is eying late November to December for a start-up.

While the production line was initially projected to come online earlier this year in Kolwezi, plans were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The managerv said said the production line should realise 5,000 tonnes per year and that Ninjing Hanrui is still in discussions regarding domestic and international sales contracts.

No timeline for a ramp-up was disclosed, but the executive said "the sooner the better" for it to reach prime production.
