The Calgary-based company has also partnered with Iyon Kechika Contracting - a member of the Kaska First Nation - to assist in the completion of the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract as part of an effort to provide opportunities to local Indigenous peoples.

The group's Frontec arm will handle maintenance, front desk management, food services, housekeeping and janitorial duties at the 300-worker project.

"We are proud to work with Iyon Kechika and Coeur to provide an exceptional experience for workers at the Silvertip mine," Frontec senior vice president and general manager Jim Landon said.

"Our long history of working with Indigenous partners and delivering quality food and comfortable accommodations to workers in remote locations will serve our new customer well in the years ahead."

ATCO's other mining clients in the region have included BHP Billiton's Jansen Discovery Lodge in Saskatchewan and Vale's Voisey's Bay nickel mine in Labrador.

Coeur's underground Silvertip operation, located just south of the Yukon border, has been part of its portfolio since October 2017. It's measured and indicated silver resources have been estimated at 26.5Moz (5Moz inferred).
