In addition to sales and marketing, the centre will house a service department, field service department, a workshop and an idler production plant, covering 3,300 square metres.

Fenner officials said the new idler facility will be able to produce conveyor steel rollers of standard sizes at a reduced lead time than overseas sourcing methods.

Additionally, it has designed the production line to optimise efficiency, costs and quality. The facility will be entirely robotically automated to allow for end product consistency.

The plant should be ready to come online by the end of September.

"The move to this facility in Murarrie allows for additional capacity to meet growing demand from our customer base both now, and into the future," general manager for marketing and sales Trevor Svenson said.

Fenner Dunlop, which will staff the new space with local workforce, has designed and supplied conveyor idlers and structures for over 15 years. A ceremony to mark the official opening of the centre and plant has been scheduled for October.
