The office, which holds a commercial office space, workshop, training room and storage area as well as additional room for growth, is now open in the business district of Las Condes. Its bilingual business development staff, as well as engineering and field servicing teams, will work from the location.

"We are now better placed to service mining companies throughout the Latin American region with our local engineers able to respond quickly to developing situations and enquiries," business manager for South America Rafael Tarud said.

"RCT has worked in Chile for a long time, including delivering automation projects at the El Teniente copper mine for Codelco, and our new office will help us to provide additional support to existing and new projects."

RCT also has locations in Australia, the US, Canada, Africa and Russia. The company's portfolio includes AusProTec, SmarTrack, EarthTrack and the ControlMaster range.
