The company introduced the new software at the International Society of Explosives Engineers 2020 conference that is being held in Denver, Colorado, US, from January 26-29.

Carlson Blast includes point cloud and mesh editing, allowing for the consolidation of multiple scans. It also features cloud cleaning tools as well as an option to filter generated meshes to remove unnecessary data from scans.

The pattern layout feature within Carlson Blast enables users to design blast patterns using standard parameters. Patterns can then be optimised with burden measurements and inspection tools.

Julian Ruiseco, Carlson mining optimization division manager, said: "Carlson Blast offers an attractive and responsive design package for Carlson's complete blast system. By accompanying the user through the entire blast process, this package offers best in industry ease of use, and performance."
