The agreement, in the works for the past 12 months, is bringing together two design and manufacturing entities that provide attachments and support products to the mining industry.

Brisbane-headquartered, ASX-listed Austin Engineering already offers its equipment outside of Australia, with operations in Asia, North and South America.

ETT is a privately owned South African company based in Richards Bay, with products already distributed in more than 20 countries.

Austin Engineering managing director Peter Forsyth said the new partnership would give both companies a good platform from which to offer products and services across the African continent.

The combined product range will include customised dump truck bodies, water trucks, diesel lube trucks, gooseneck-equipped recovery vehicles, tyre handlers, lowbed off-road trailers and excavator buckets.
