The work, which begins immediately, includes the supply, installation and maintenance of power generation equipment, though the company has not disclosed specifics. The contract is for a minimum 52-week period beginning in the March quarter of 2019.

Commissioning of the pipeline project for the Pilbara iron ore complex is scheduled for September.

"The significant contract is an endorsement of the company's strategy in positioning Babylon as a key provider of specialty equipment rental and resource equipment maintenance services," the Australian group's officials said.

"The customer response continues to be encouraging, with a growing order book pipeline for specialised diesel engine maintenance, pumping solutions and power generation."

Babylon, which confirmed earlier this year that it secured purchase orders of $800,000 in the first month of the December quarter, is also working with CSIRO on its CCS RDD project to provide dewatering pumps for an open-pit nickel operation. The Forrestfield-based firm also will supply dewatering equipment rentals to an unnamed gold mine.
