The agreement between CNEL and Atico's local subsidiary Compañía Minera La Plata involves the engineering, permitting, construction and connection of a 69-kilovolt power line at the mine site in Palo Quemado.

"As a major component of this project, finding a solution for clean energy is an important milestone," Atico said.

The miner noted that CNEL's regional substation is just 7.5 kilometres from La Plata.

Once online, La Plata, an underground operation, will extract 800 tonnes per day.
