Moss marks first gold

Meeting the milestone and its transition to being a US gold producer are the culmination of six years of development for the company, president and CEO Kenneth Berry said, adding that it was done safely with more than 1,967 days logged without a lost-time accident.

The company has also received a US$100 million commitment from partner Sprott for acquisitions and development; that deal is now being arranged and the facility will be subject to approval by Sprott’s investment committee.

Northern Vertex said last month that it was preparing for first pour at its 100%-owned gold-silver project. At that point, it was leaching ore on the pad and was in the final commissioning stages of the Merrill Crowe plant.

Moss, which is currently undergoing a drilling programme to expand its gold-silver resources, is located just outside of Bullhead City. It is targeting production of 42,000oz per year.
