PRESS RELEASE: The company said the location will serve as a hub for its regional operations, which include the Ivory Coast, Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso.

Joseph Appiah Kubi will be general manager for the new Ghana office, which will also serve as a venue for customer product and process training.

“We have done business for many decades in West Africa and have a wide network of distributors and agents,” FLSmidth Sub-Saharan Africa vice president Deon de Kock said, adding that resource-rich Ghana is the largest and fastest growing economy in West Africa.

“There are positive signs of recovery in the minerals sector in West Africa, especially in the gold mining segment. We want to build our own in-house resources in this region, and fine tune our service and support activities to add more value to our customers’ operations."

The office should be completely online sometime this month.
