The company, which has demobilised construction crews and subcontractors, has also made all site infrastructure, installations and equipment safe, secure, hygienic and ready for when construction recommences.

 

In addition, caretakers will oversee the warehouse or laydown areas, where equipment has been checked and stored.

 

Site-based development, including water bore drilling, test pumping and other programmes, will go on in the short term, using crews from Cardinia. The potable water tank and ball mill pinion gear, the manufacture or refurbishment of which are being completed, will be delivered to the site and will remain stored for the coming month.

 

Kin Mining said May 9 that it would stop progress on the facility because additional testwork and design to "optimise project returns" was needed.
