Clough has been awarded a contract for the construction of the OHP for South Flank, which is located approximately 130km north-west of the town of Newman, and approximately 8km to the south of BHP's existing Mining Area C operation.

South Flank is meant to fully replace production from the 80Mtpa Yandi mine, which is reaching the end of its economic life.

Clough's scope of works includes the structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation for the OHP structures, including the interconnecting conveyors and transfer stations.

Clough CEO and managing director, Peter Bennett, said the delivery of the project would create 300 new jobs and would be performed by Clough's Western Australia-based team.
