Bart Malan, Multotec's international business development manager for Eurasia, said, while the company was not a newcomer to Turkey, having supplied a range of equipment over the past 19 years, there was a renewed focus on this region.

Multotec is headquartered in Johannesburg and currently has global operations throughout Australia, Canada, Europe and South America.

"Over the years, Multotec equipment has been installed in the chrome, gold and coal sectors, and through the appointment of Turbo, we will be able to extend our reach and include a larger range of proven Multotec solutions to the mining and minerals processing industry in Turkey," said Malan.

Turbo is active in the mining, metallurgy, construction, petroleum and natural gas sectors. In addition to its head office in Istanbul and a branch office in Ankara, it has a subsidiary in the UK and a logistics supply bureau in the US.

Malan said the Turkish company, with a focus on aftersales services, came with skilled and qualified engineers, as well as facilities to support its customer base.

"We also plan to collaborate with Turbo in setting up a fully operational laboratory in Turkey," he added. "This will give us the advantage of offering mineral test work and sampling for customers."

The facility would assist Turbo in its plant flow designs, helping customers in boosting the efficiency of their mineral-processing operations.

While Multotec has historically marketed mainly cyclones and spiral concentrators in Turkey, it can now offer a growing range of equipment, including samplers, screening systems, flotation components, pumps and magnetic separators.
