Molycop said the company was already a partner in its mill optimisation products, with its wireless sensors successfully deployed on the mill shell and integrated into Molycop's SAG ball product.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

"Molycop is proud to continue the partnership with MILL Trakka founder, Ian Hamilton, and his team to further develop data capture solutions and extend Molycop's circuit analysis capability and delivery of productivity outcomes to its customers," said Paul Shelley, vice president of innovation at Molycop.

Hamilton is also the managing director of related sensor tag company, GET Trakka, which has tagging solutions that combine RFID technology and sensing capabilities into a tag that uniquely identify individual components such as teeth, adapters, lip shrouds and side bars.
