FLSmidth said the integration of AI into ECS/ProcessExpert V8.5 means process data signals can be analysed using predictive modelling, to tell if signals have become unreliable or unavailable.

"The new AI technologies are based on machine- and deep-learning algorithms that create their own understanding of a process by finding patterns in the raw process data," said King Becerra, FLSmidth global product line manager, Group Digital.

"They then use this understanding to solve problems that help improve performance and sustainability."

FLSmidth also noted the product's AI features could be extended by customers via a new module known as PXP DataBooks.
