Hexagon has released a 3D camera to be used in production material monitoring and measurement.

The HxGN MineMeasure Detect includes hardware, software, and data products to optimise plant production.

The system allows for continuous and rapid measurement of oversize, volume, rock fragmentation, and colour analysis.

"Combined with our fragmentation tools, the solution's immediate detection capabilities offer a critical early warning for operators to avoid catastrophic production stoppages," VP of Hexagon MineMeasure James Dampney said.

HxGN MineMeasure Protect will prevent large-sized particles from blocking crushers, chutes, and conveyors and interrupting plant production, the company said. The technology includes algorithms to identify particles and fines.

It can also detect differences in material density and hardness to maximise throughput.

The technology's fragmentation analysis also includes colour analysis data, allowing operators to adjust material handling, material blending, clay detection, and ore treatment recipes.

HxGN MineMeasure will also cut costs by minimising downtimes, and increasing production levels of plants.
