Empired secures Rio Tinto contract

Empired has secured a contract to provide application managed services to Rio Tinto

The contract, including options, will have a total term of five years and an estimated value of A$20 million (US$15.3 million).

Under the contract, Empired will provide application support and project services for over 170 applications, spanning a number of technologies including Legacy Platforms, Oracle, Microsoft.Net, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft CRM.

The applications are largely technical systems used in the management of field operations spanning mining, processing, rail and port facilities.
