Thiess coal contracts extended

Thiess has been awarded three contract extensions in Indonesia

PRESS RELEASE: As part of these extensions, Thiess will continue to provide mine services at Arutmin’s Senakin and Satui mines and Bayan Resources’ Wahana mine in South Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The new A$150 million (US$115 million), two-and-a-half-year contract at Senakin coal mine includes overburden removal, coal handling and preparation works; while the A$240 million contract at Satui includes overburden removal, coal mining and port operation support at the project’s Hanoman West pit over the next three years.

Thiess will also be providing overburden removal, pit dewatering and coal hauling to port at Wahana for another three years.
