Electricity demand for copper mining in Chile is forecast to grow 34% over the next 10 years from 25 terrawatt hours (TWh) in 2020 to 33.4TWh in 2031, according to state copper agency Cochilco. To satisfy the demand an additional 1,222MW of generation capacity will be needed.
