Created just six months ago, the network connects operators with organisations that require their help to produce geo-referenced imagery and data products.

“As drones become an accepted tool for data acquisition, organisations are increasingly looking to find experienced drone operators capable of not just flying the drone but also of producing valuable geo-data,” said Jean-Christophe Zufferey, CEO and co-founder of senseFly.

“Drone Connector provides just that, giving end-user organisations a simple, effective tool they can use to find the data partners they need.”

Each application to join the network is carefully assessed by the Drone Connector team to confirm the applicant offers an appropriate level of drone and industry experience. For end users, Drone Connector searches its database of providers to identify the local operators best suited to the job, sharing the project request with these parties to gauge their interest. Once an interested operator shortlist has been confirmed, Drone Connector’s team sends profiles of these operators directly to the end user. All subsequent procurement decisions are then the responsibility of the client, with future client-operator communications handled direct.
