DataCloud said Trevali would use MinePortal to digitise orebodies for sharing within and across its operations.

"Teams will be able to track, learn and improve their mine-to-mill performance," the technology firm stated.

MinePortal uses sensing technology on the drill rig to feed synthesised geological data into an integrated operational data platform to assist mine planning. It enables mining companies to "tie crushing and grinding performance back to the block model to identify and implement [drill and blast] actions that increase production and reduce unit costs", according to DataCloud.

Trevali operates four mines across the Americas and Africa that are expected to produce 163,000-181,000 tonnes of zinc, along with 19,000-22,000t of lead and 1.32-1.47 million ounces of silver this year.
