Caason noted that the business of Australian-based LDO, a specialist in mining systems, processes, planning and training, is aligned with its own coal mining interests in Tasmania, operating under the HardRock Coal Mining banner.

HardRock Coal Mining is currently working on a mining site leased from the Tasmanian government. It is located in the Fingal Valley and will produce about 1 million tonnes annually of thermal coal once it is online.

LDO has been growing the exposure for the Rokion battery-powered utility vehicles; the company has been an exclusive distributor for the product in the region since 2018 for manufacturer Prairie Machine.

In June, LDO confirmed it was testing the vehicles - which come in the R100, R200 and R400 models - at BHP's Olympic Dam property.
