Muddy River Technologies has finished equipment installation for the upgrade of the Water Treatment Plant, said Blue Lagoon Resources.

Water treatment batch tests were initiated with results expected back the week of March 29, 2021. The Water Treatment Plant is designed to treat mine water with zero to extremely low levels of sludge and power usage.

"With this state-of-the-art water treatment plant now in operation, we will turn our focus to updating and completing the mine reclamation plans, the final of the three key required amendments which we expect to complete by the end of April," president and CEO Rana Vig said.

Officials said other work is also in process and completed to date after starting a series of projects on January 4. They include underground bolting at the 1290 level, a secondary egress for emergencies, four management plans for reclamation and closure plans and an ore storage building.

The installation of upgraded equipment for the treatment facility is now also complete, as is 7,176.5 meters of a planned 20,000m programme of diamond drilling, and an updated ground control management plan is ready to be submitted to industry officials.

The current Environmental Management Act permit (EMA) and a mining permit provide for up to 75,000 tonnes of production annually at Dome Mountain, located about 50 minutes from Smithers, BC.

Blue Lagoon said it will review for a production decision once it receives the green-light on all permit requirements.
