Mine technology and systems provider Strata Worldwide has joined up with Nerospec SK in a new partnership.

Strata will work with Nerospec, which provides mining machine automation and other technologies, to focus on a range of intelligent machine controllers and data loggers that interact with machinery and vehicles.

The companies worked together on mining projects in South Africa, and plan to expand their focus to other global markets, Strata chief executive Mike Berube said.

The technology is independent of OEMs and can be altered to meet operators' requirements, and aim to improve the productivity of machinery as well as its safety, monitoring, and maintenance. The new technologies will offer health and maintenance data, real-time monitoring, and productivity analytics.

Nerospec is a joint venture between German company Schmidt-Kranz Group and South African Neropec. Nerospec SK is headquartered in Velbert, Germany.
