Coal India in talks with Australian tech companies

Indian newspaper the Economic Times reported on January 15 that state-run mining company Coal India is in talks with Australian companies to acquire technology

The proposed technology could help Coal India to meet its targeted output of 1 billion tonnes by 2020

This technology will enable the company to unlock more than 70% of additional coal (over 2 billion tonnes) that is trapped in the pillars of its loss-making underground mines.
