PRESS RELEASE: TIA already offers a basic 200-level program, and Michelin currently also offers a service technician seminar. This new multi-day technician certification class, Michelin officials noted, has been designed for technicians with three or more years of OTR experience in applying industry-accepted procedures and skills safely. Those seeking to take the course must first have completed both aforementioned TIA and Michelin courses.

The class will be offered with a small, focused student group and will be taught by TIA-certified ETS Instructors and will be in line with the standards of both the TIA and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

“In addition to demonstrating the skills learned in the basic TIA program (200-level) and Michelin’s earthmover service technician seminar, participants will be able to reinforce the culture of safety needed for servicing mine, quarry and construction/industrial tires to reduce injury,” Michelin North America earthmoving training manager Richard Ameris said.

“Our goal is to help technicians across the industry to develop consistent safety practices so that they can help our end users gain productivity with their equipment, and more important, go home safely to their families at the end of each work day.”

Participants will receive a TIA/Michelin certification at the conclusion of the course, upon passing an exam and showing proficiency when demonstrating various field skills.

Techs who wish to maintain their TIA certification after the class must recertify every two years. More information on the course and availability should reach out to a Michelin Earthmover sales manager.
