The PC5500-11 has become one of the most popular hydraulic excavators

The company has added a revamped monitoring system, the Komtrax Plus 2, to the PC5500-11 that creates automized data reports that identify performance opportunities to enhance productivity.

Fault messages are immediately available to the operator, while the digital storage provides failure summary and analysis that can be downloaded, or is accessible via satellite for instant monitoring.

The PC5500-11 is available in configurations of 533-552 tonnes and features two Tier 4-compliant engines.

An optional Komatsu Argus Payload Meter can be used to track the efficiency of truck loading and fleet dispatch.

In terms of operator comfort and safety, Komatsu has added an updated emergency exit system that allows ease of egress from two independent locations. An exhaust after-treatment system also reduces particulate matter, sulfur oxides and NOx.
