Hitachi Construction Machinery Co is to acquire H-E Parts

H-E Parts provides solution services to the mining, quarrying, heavy construction, and materials processing industries. It develops, manufactures, sells and repairs aftermarket parts for mining and construction machines in Australia, the US and other markets.

At a meeting held on December 21, 2016, Hitachi’s board of directors resolved to acquire all of H-E Parts, and finalised a purchase agreement with H-E Parts investors.

In a press release of the same date, Hitachi said the acquisition helps to fulfil its mid-term management plan and is “proactively working to streamline its management, including through establishing a global support framework, in order to flexibly adapt to changes in the operating environment”.

The company added that it aims to provide highly efficient solution services at low costs, enhance the its value chain and improve business stability and profitability through the acquisition of H-E Parts. Hitachi also plans to expand its solution service business by leveraging the knowledge and expertise of H-E Parts.
