The 3km underground material handling system will be installed during 2016 and is intended to be operational in early 2017.

This Rail-Veyor system will provide Agnico Eagle with automated material handling technology as part of the new Deep 1 project at the Goldex mine. Rail-Veyor stated that it will bring key benefits of improved safety and cost savings while doing so as an environmentally ‘green’ operation for Agnico Eagle.

Frank Ward, VP of sales & marketing for Rail-Veyor, commented: “We thank Agnico Eagle for being an industry innovator and showing leadership in bringing new technology improvements to underground mining.”
