Famur longwall system for Indonesian coal mine

Poland-based Famur Group signed a contract on November 8 for delivery of a longwall system with the necessary equipment to coal producer PT Gerbang Daya Mandiri in Indonesia

Famur will deliver a longwall system to PT Gerbang Daya Mandiri in Indonesia

The contract value is over €10 million (US$11 million). It covers the delivery of a longwall shearer, powered roof support, scraper conveyor and electrical equipment, transport equipment and auxiliary equipment. The order is to be implemented in stages and the final delivery date will be within 10.5 months from the date of the contract effective date.

Mirosław Bendzera, president of Famur, said: "Cooperation with Gerbang Daya Mandiri PT in Indonesia is another extremely important contract, fitting into the business objectives set out in the Famur strategy for 2019-2023. We welcome the fact that Polish technical know-how may contribute to the increase in the efficiency of coal extraction in other country, while increasing the safety of mine employees."

Famur has also recently secured significant contracts in Kazakhstan and China. Its plan for the immediate future is to expand sales on such markets as Australia, the US and Canada.
