The Toronto and London-listed miner said the milestone was achieved on Sunday following a successful commissioning period.

"The PureGold mine, milling facilities, and other critical systems are now all operating in line with or rapidly approaching design capacity of 800 tonnes of ore per day on a sustainable basis," said the company.

Pure Gold achieved throughput of 509tpd in the June quarter and 577tpd in the month of June.

The mine was slated to produce 66,000oz in its first year as it ramps up towards annual production of more than 100,000oz/y.

Production jumped 46% in the June quarter compared to the March quarter but at 6,261oz, it was still less than half the 16,000oz of quarterly production the company planned for the first year of operations.
