Safety is a core value and strategic priority at all of our mines, yet metal to metal contact continues to be a challenge at some mines.

Collision awareness systems have proven to be an effective tool for reducing the risk of near misses and providing greatly improved situational awareness for the operators of mobile equipment, both heavy and light.

Improvements in technology have also added to the effectiveness of the systems for preventing collisions.

We are pleased to provide an overview of the system operation, a view of the technology roadmap and to share some of the results that mine operators have achieved in some of the top mines.

We also look at the state of the art with Level 9 technology that intervenes to slow and/or stop the truck to prevent an imminent collision.

David Fisk, Sales Director, Wabtec Digital Mine Dave is Sales Director for Wabtec Digital Mine and has focused on helping to introduce positive change to mining companies by leveraging technology for the past 14 years. Prior to Wabtec Dave served in senior management roles globally with 3D-P, Honeywell, and MRO Software. He has broad experience with wireless mine communications, edge computing, asset management and reliability and general IOT applications.
