L&T received the orders from Coal India subsidiaries, leading infrastructure companies in the coal sector and from iron ore and cement customers. The units include 66 Komatsu 100-tonne and 60-tonne dump trucks, 15 Komatsu wheel loaders, seven Komatsu hydraulic excavators and associated equipment.

The contracts include the supply of equipment as well as maintenance contracts.

The orders come just weeks after the India-based procurement company announced an order to supply 46 Komatsu units to Tata Steel at iron ore and coal mines in the country.

In that deal, Tata Steel's iron ore mines at Joda, Noamundi and Khondbond in Odisha will be allocated 21 of the dump trucks and the wheel loaders and crawler dozers, while the remaining 20 dump trucks will be deployed at the West Bokaro coal mines in Jharkhand.
