The US$40 million, 85,000-square-foot (7,897m2) campus will be located in downtown Sparwood, a British Columbian community where the equipment maker already has a three-decade-long operating history.
Ground breaking is set for early next month. The OEM expects to open the facility by the end of 2020.
Until that time, Komatsu staff will continue to work out of the facility it is currently leasing in the same town.
Western Canada regional manager Steven Droste called the new building an investment in the community and in the company's future. It purchased the 15-acre parcel of land from the district of Sparwood and preparations works are now underway.
"This facility will be a great new place of work for our employees, while enhancing our capabilities, so we can continue to provide our customers unrivalled service delivery," he said.
